i have a 86 mj with 2.5l and want to put a inline six in it. i no the tranny mounts will be moved back. How different are the engine mounts? and for the wiring isnt there companies that you can send in your stock wiring harness and they will convert it to the inline six? any help would be great

i would like to no where i can get headliner too. .every junk yard i been going to there always missing. i don't have an old one to refabric either

on my 86 comanche i put a bumper on the bumper when i was sliding it on hit wiring harness in front and shorted something and it won't start it doesnt even click to turn on, i tried putting starter relay and checking the relays and fuses but i can't figure it out there is no power even at the starter which there should be always. if you have any idea what it is let me know

except why would u want such a big drive shaft. i could do that, ill have to go to pull a part and get the right slip that goes in t case, the spline different. i mys well since I'm not using a sye
-
i swapped my long bed 4cy comanche to 4x4 and its 56'' inches from the tail of the tcase to the u joint clamp. i am just wondering if anyone knows from an other vehicle a good drive line that will work so i can have it cut down and I'm not useing a slip yoke eliminator

its not that i don't have the holes i could tap. its for the rock krawler mount to move back on frame the inner forward mounts are blocking it from sliding back and the drivers side inner crossmember mount hits it and I'm not trying to don all this sheet metal work on that side where all the brake lines and gas lines run through. rock krawler should specify this stuff before they sell there product
-
so i talked to rock krawler and they said the crossmember would have to be moved back two inches so where the 6 cylinder mounts are which i don't have. So I'm kinda @#$%ed they told me it fit 86- something cherokees/ mj and i told them what tranny i had. ii might just chop two inches out the arms and bevel them and weld the back together.

i ordered it from motion offroad and they had it drop shipped to me from rk

i had 5.5 i sold them on craigs did same thing. these are 7.5 re coils. i have the stock coil spacer thats half inch. or so. but look at pics on previus page withe upper and lower heims all the way in. it should come in more it should not be like that and I'm tired of rk bs

stay around I'm going take them right now

Here is what they said. How far forward is your axle? ((If it's "bowing" the coil springs my assumption is that you have the mounts on the frame side located in the wrong spot. Their are 3 holes where the factory crossmember mounts. You should mount the kit on the rear 2 holes on each side. If you used the front holes it will push your axle approx. 4" more forward, thus causing the coils to "bow". From the factory the crossmember on pre 1990 model XJ's and MJ's came in 2 locations depending on what motor/tranny combo you had.)) there is only one set of holes to bolt it to on the bottom and then two inners on a plate from the frame and there mount would hit my inner mount plate if it moved back any more. how it comes up and hugs each side wouldn't even be able to move back if i did cause the plate where my inner tranny bolts mount too. Could it be 'cause i had a ax4 2wd tranny and put a ax5 tranny? i told them i had the ax5 and i don't believe it should matter cause it mounts to the same place on frame.

BLHTAZ the lowers arent all the way out they were half way out before i took pic. the heims upper and lower are all the way in. I'm calling them tomorow
-
see thats what I'm saying. the upper is all the way in. and i had the lowers half way out which lowered my pinion angle but i put it like that right before picks to see if it fixed anything. i contacted them last night through a email ill let u no how it goes that for the sugestions i was getting pist about to rig some new coil buckets
-
i have angled the lowers back that does not fix problem and. in the picture the lowers heims are fully in. extending the upper would make it worse on my page. I'm thinking rock krawler is bull $#!& beside they sent me wj directions for the lift.... ps / and i know the track bar is not on but that won't effect the forward wrap on the coils i had it on i just took it off

no i did rotate it back I'm sending pics now. i adjusted the lowers out half way even so the axle would slant pinion down and it didnt help. i adjusted them all at no threads and its like in the pictures. if i adjust the upper dif control arm it will just make them more of a bow
-
the coils are at a slant backwards torwards the cab at a angle. the long arms are adujusted right cause i mest around with it finding best angle that had less of a bow
-
i put 5.5 on and they didnt fit when i installed the lift
-
so i don't care who talks $#!& about rock krawler its solid cold rold. and i had it on my zj purfect. and u don't have to drop your front suspention while working with tranny. i had 5.5 before my buddy has 9s from rusty I'm just making new coils
-
so i put on a rock krawler long arm with 7.5 re coils. and the coil buckets need to be moved forward the coils don't sit right at all. has anybody run into this. it was a 2wd comanche and rock krawler asked what tranny i had
-
ya i got dana 30 with 410s and ford 8.8 waiting for gears/ put rock krawler long arm in.
-
i have a 86 comanche long bed 2wd, i put it a ax5/np231 out of a yj. I havent looked into the shift linkage from those but i have the piece in the cab in. is there cherokee shift linkage the same from that tranny /tcase thanks for any help
