  1. I got my wiring figured out and now have all lights, but still have to wire up cab/dome lights. As for the lower rockers and cab corners are now covered in undercoat. Looks better, i will not be repairing any of this because I plan on using the truck until it dies, and not wash it....EVER! Oh, and a teaser pic of the future wheels that will have 31's or 33's with my future lift. I also will be wiring up yellow fogs on the front bumper and spot lights on the roll bar, no the tractor lights currently on there. They may become reverse lights.
  2. I have NO interior panels except door panels. I plan on sound deadening everything and undercoating. As for the info, thanks guys, really helps to have knowledge on the vehicle.
  3. Could this be related to the headlight switch
  4. I do have 12v with my test light to the pink center wire. Both with the switch rotated to the manual on position AND when I rotate it back to the standard on-with-door. I will buy new door pins, they are quite rusty, and cheap. I'll double check the radio fuse....I don't currently have a radio installed, but that shouldn't matter, I did leave the fuse installed. Thanks for the help. I'm using new cab lights, the originals were missing.
  5. I recently bought this truck. I just want a winter beater. As for the interior dome lights, it HAD the two over the shoulder style. They are removed and not present. I bought some new dome lights I want to wire in. I understand the Pink wire is positive, and the blackw/white stripe is neg. I get the lights to come on when I manually request them via the headlight switch. When I do this it turns on my cluster lights. My concern. I can't get them to come on (dome lights) just opening the doors. I can unplug them and just turn on the cluster lamps by turning theheadlight switch back to the manual positoin but I have no reostat adjustment for the cluster. Could this be a headlight switch going bad? What was the single black wire for in the plug of the original dome pigtail?
  6. Now I'm worried I may have a snapped, disconnected kickdown cable. Might just have to dive right back in and drob the pan and check things out.
  7. I do not have a switch on the dash. I have not touched a thing other than the filter/fluid.
  8. Will a new modulator on my trans help with shifts? They are ho-hum. New filter, fluid. It only downshifts when I want mash the pedal to the floor, and if/when it wants.Going up hills it will get to 25mph and no upshift......keep in mind 200,000miles plus 4x4 and such. Its tired, but I feel something is not right.
  9. I do have a vacuum leak I haven't been able to find yet....could be the culpret. As for the timing, I can't adjust it in any way....it's fixed.
  10. Correct, no tach. As for extending, I will check, and adjust it, if it doesnt, I'll buy a new one.
  11. I have a new to me 2.5 auto 4x4 200,000+ miles with new cap rotor, plugs, wires, alt oil change and such. Truck is idling rough as hell, but smooths out once above idle.....any clues? I'm sure the O2 sensor is original. Any other places to look?
  12. Auto. Should have 4.10 in the rear right
  13. Yeah, I don't think I can stuff a 4.56 in there, but it'd be about the only thing to keep it moving above 45. I like it the way it is for now......but lights and possible stock front bumper, rear delete in the future....
  14. You're right. This thing is what a truck should be......only power brakes, steering and heat. I want to get some old wrangler steelies and 33's and a lift, but that's it. Possible olive drab pray can job after some rust treatment. It already has the custome aluminum floorpan mod on the driver's side,,,,,, It's already gutless, so I'm not worried about speed or anything, just some mild trail work and winter fun.
  15. Just got done tracing down gremlins, the PO butchered the tailight wiring, which in turn fried everything else. So I worked on putting it back to 'factory' wiring. Everything works (lighting) like it should and I have dash lights. Sprayed the front and rear flat black, gonna undercoat the 6-8" on all body panels. Here it is....RUSTY 213,000miles and 2.5 auto command trac 1986 beaut. and still ticking. Did a full tune up and gotta re-seal the diffs, but other than that....should be good for winter fun. Wouldnt mind lifting it later on.
