  2. nope, no work done recently. i have been driving it harder lately. instead of the average 8mi a day, i've been throwing some 100 mi and 65mph trips into it. funny, before i bought it (like 3 months ago) i test drove it, everything worked great. a/c, signals, no smoke, no leaks. nothing. within 2 weeks the alternator, upper radiator hose, thermo, and a/c comp all crapped out. but what do you expect from a $500 buy. body's straight, interiors straight, was running strong.
  3. has new wires, plugs, cap/rotor, fuel filter. checked all vac leaks.
  4. the cat's been gone for years now. the truck sat for a number of years, so i wonder if maybe it had something in the fuel tank, and now it's surfaced and is catching in the fuel line? it's a new filter.
  5. was running fine...then slowly, acceleration in 2nd gear would lag and start to backfire under heavy acceleration. then, progressively in 3rd, and finally all gears. before i could accelerate slow and had no problem, but after 10 or so miles it got worse. any ideas? i couldnt find any vaccuum leaks, and that's about as far as i've gotten.
  6. alright, i have my project for tomorrow then. yeah, it's def'tly the door considering i can see through from the inside. thanks for all the responses.
  7. i thought at first my drivers side door just need new weatherstripping, but the more i looked i realized it's all there. but, there's a gap that allows water in constantly. and, as some may know, in so fla during the summer, it rains all the time. fortunately i don't have carpet, just that weird black rubber stuff. my guess is to put some stripping on the door itself too, and not just the jam.
  8. i live in broward county, commonly associated with ft lauderdale, fla. I see every car you could ever imagine down here, as well as customized. however, i rarely ever see mj's. i can think of maybe two that i've seen in the past few years. this past weekend i went to dunellen, which is about 15mi west of Ocala. within 2 hrs, i saw three mj's. couldn't believe it!! all in really nice condition. thought that was somewhat odd. granted it is a bit more country up there.
  9. i try to refrain from any needless disposal of auto parts....someone's always out there in need. my bed has some slight surface rust, and maybe a ding or two but overall it's in pretty good shape.
  10. i didnt realize there was such a demand for them, then again i am still new to the whole MJ thing. nonetheless, i will def'ly post when i've removed it so whoever wants/needs it can take it away.
  11. i appreciate all the replies. damn helpful. all this being said, in about a month or so i'll have a rust-free shortbed available. it's kind of red right now, and the "sportruck" decals blew off during a it's first pressure wash after about 4 years of sitting. so, it's left with a stick residue that still reads "sportruck". classy.
  12. any pics, or post re: bed removal? call me odd, but i've always fancied the utilitarian look of a flatbed, or just a tool boxed pickup. i don't necessarily need the bed, so who knows....
  13. no, for the 16x10
  14. let me ask though, what would be the optimal width?
  15. ok, thats what i thought. i was told it would fit, but i wasn't too sure. thanks. that was quick too.
  16. maybe a dumb question... how well does a 245/75 16 fit on a 16x10 wheel? i'm not going for big tires (obviously) but i want to make sure it's not a crazy fit. i got a really good deal on some wheels, then found another awesome deal on some tires. so....
