  1. Nice. So I'm not the only one who's been thinking about this. I had a Shelby Z Daytona, it had the 2.2 turbo, and I messed around with that for a while so I've got SOMEWHAT of an idea what i'm doing... My brother has a pair of turbos off his Stealth I could snag, or a friend of mine offered me one he's got in his garage too. I've got intercoolers kicking around my garage, a welder, and enough hook-up's at various garages / dealers / exhaust shops that I should be able to figure something out for pretty cheap. I'm almost more concerned about swapping to a newer intake/fuel injection setup cause I know my throttle body is already in need of a GOOD cleaning or replacement, as the fuel doesnt spray, it dribbles. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, and I'll be sure to post any info I find or anything I end up doing!
  2. I'll have to check for the dimmer wire, that may be the case. When i turn the key off, the volts on the ACC wire slowly go down like .2v at a time till it gets to like 1.5v, hmm...
  3. Best Buy had a good deal going for a pioneer head unit and a set of 6.5" speakers for $69, and having no radio OR speakers in my 'Manche, I quickly grabbed one. The two wiring harnesses tucked behind the busted up tape deck corresponded to a wiring diagram I also found behind the tape deck, so I snipped and crimped away and wired up the Pioneer adapter. Plugged the deck in and turned the key to "on", and nothing. Unplugged the head unit, checked the fuse, it was fine. Used a voltmeter to test the ground wire, the battery (memory) wire, and the Power/Acc wire, everything is perfect. 12.5v with the key "off" at the yellow battery wire, nothing at the "acc" wire. Turn the key on and 12.5v at the red "acc" wire, I used the ground wire to ground the voltmeter to so I know its a good ground, too. Figuring the head unit was a dud, I exchanged it for a new one, plugged it in, same thing. Nothing. Figured maybe the adapter was defective and one of the pins wasnt lined up right or something so I wired up the battery/acc/ground wires from the new harness, tested them, everythings good, but still nothing when I plug it in. This is frustrating! Any ideas?
  4. I've got an 87 Comanche, 2.5 4 cyl, when I first got it, it would run REALLY rough when I first started it up after it sat for a few hours, but would almost never stall out. I was told on one of the forums that by taking the idle speed motor thingy out, taking it apart and cleaning it out, I could probably solve the issue. Well I did, and now I turn the key and she purrs to life and idles nice and smooth, right above 1000 RPM's Only issue is, after the truck runs for a few minutes, the idle speed increases, and won't go down. If I start it up and drive it, probably a mile or two down the road it will be idling at 1800 or so RPM's and will not go any lower! I backed the bolt that sticks out of the idle speed motor all the way in to get it to idle at 1k RPM, so I can't adjust that any further. Any advice? Thanks! :chillin:
