  1. Did you disconnect the Speedo Cable Nut from the TCase, and then pull the whole cable out with the Console thru the hole in the firewall. It sounds like you are describing the clamp/lock washer thing that mounts on a frame bolt about 1/2 down the cable to between the dash and the T-Case. thats what i was talking about. the speedo is busted it broke where it mounted in to the cluster. before i swapped gages the gas gage did work. after installing the new one turned the key over it just droped way below E.
  2. i got it out. well it wasnt a bolt it was more like a washer underneath the truck pretty much just held the cable in place. i swapped my gage cluster from a mj to a xj. everything is working except the gas gage. also there is a short in the dimmer switch when the lights are on. also the right turn single never goes out. thats just when the lights are on. am tring to explain this the best i can. thanks for the help. for got its for a 88 mj.
  3. am having problem removing it. i removed the bolt to losing up the speedo cable. am also pretty sure i broke it. its hanging up some where am thinking the plug in the middle. any tips on how to remove it? thanks
  4. 1. i don't understand this cooling system. i tried flushing it but couldnt figure out how the coolant is getting to the radiator. 2. how do you burp the system? 3. my problem is its over heating. the idot light isnt working. the coolant bottle was full for some reason. i bought the truck from a family member. i even drove it a few times before never had this problem. am pretty sure the eletric fan isnt working either. the clutch fan is good. am also replacing the t-stat. rewiring the eletric fan to a switch. what eles should i check? 4. my uncle ran 20w 40 oil in it. then when he drove it to my place he said he put some 5w 40 in it. b/c it has a really bad valve cover gasket leak. then i put some 10w 40 in it then it over heat. could this be part of the problem?
  5. i just bought a 88 4.0 2x4 comanche for 1700. with less then 97,000 mi. its a auto. its complety stock. i plan on keeping it that way. i bought it for a work truck. i pretty much bought it b/c it has a inline six. i mainly work on toyota supras witch also has a inline six. i own three right now. a 87 n/a , a 88 shell that am going to sell. and a 85 that is getting a 7m turbo swap. anyway i just wanted to say hi and i like your forum. and i need to buy a few parts when i get the cash thanks
