Okay cool that's all I need thanks guys! I hoping to get the ax5 and tcase combo to make everything easier!
-
O yes I knew I need to get the shifter linkage for the transfer-case. I still need a front axle, and drive shafts. Just collecting one part at a time, and as for the tj case I have a few different options for a transmission and just incase this deal falls through I have another ax-5 and a nv3550 out of a tj I can get. So I was wondering if I get the ax-5 without the transfer-case will a tj case bolt up?
-
Okay thanks guys! I have a ax-5 and tcase I'm looking at from a yj that is still running and driving today so I might be getting that! One more question will a TJ 231 fit behind the ax-5?
-
Well unfortunately I had the 4-speed trans.. So 3.55 gearing. So I should just keep a lookout for a ax-5 from a yj. Do you know if the 5 speed trans from a newer model TJ would work? Or is that a different bolt pattern too?

Ever get the shocks installed or driven it with the shocks on there? -
Hey I have a 2.5L 2wd Jeep comanche and I am able to get a 89 jeep with a 4.0 and 5 speed 4wd. I was wondering if I could just bolt up the transmission from the 4.0 to the 4cyl? Is it a different bell housing? Different input shaft? I was just wandering.

Hey everyone I have a few questions about a soa on my comanche. I've been getting ready to do a 4wheel drive swap on the truck, but I have the 4speed with the 2.5 and that means 3.55 gearing. I'm trying to find a 5speed transmission and eventually will swap in a 8.8 with 4.10s and disks. Now I only want to run max of a 32 or a 33x10.50 and I only want about 3 in of lift. I know that a normal soa will net around 4.5- 5.5 inches of lift. How can I get around 3in of lift with an soa?

I was wondering if a Cherokee hitch would fit my Comanche? I think I have read somewhere else that it will bolt up, but never saw any solid proof. All and any info is appreciated!
-
The other trans is a ax-5 if I'm not mistaken. It's an 88 or 89 model. So they will not swap. Okay that's all I needed to know then! Thanks!

Hello everyone, I have a question. I have an 87 Comanche 2wd ax4 2.5l. runs great just needs 4wd! I have another Comanche I'm able to get at a pretty good price, but it has a 6cyl 4x4 and it smokes alot. my question is will the transmission and transfer case bolt up to my jeeps Engine?
-
Yea exactly what foreman1063 said, Nothing seem to be working. I did take it apart to look around and I noticed behind the speedo it looks brown like it had been burnt or something.

Okay quick question will a 2057 work for the turn signal bulbs? I think the front and rear use different ones. Am I correct?
-
Well my gas gauge on the old gauge panel worked, so it possibly is just a bad panel. I guess I'll take it back and try to find another one. As for the turn signals haven't fixed that issue yet, going to buy some new bulbs and try those out tonight.
-
Okay everyone, here are a few pictures. Will get more tomorrow! When I picked it up! Stoping for breakfast. My Grandfather pulling the truck home! The day after I pull the gas tank and got her running! With a little flex test!
-
Haha I'm trying to figure the picture thing out on this forum. I might need a hand with the gauges and turn signals though. I just don't have enough mechanical know-how yet so that would be much appreciated!
-
Okay, I'll try that out tonight as well! Thanks alot everyone! now to just get some time to work on it and figure out how to post pictures to the forum here!
-
Where is the fuel sending unit located? I'm thinking I got a bad dash, since none of the other gauges are working.
-
It does sound very similar. I will check that out tonight once I get off work. Thanks a bunch man. Any insight in the gauges? Besides I have to go by the sending units for the oil, and temp. What about the gas, tach, and volt?
-
All of the turn signals work when using the hazards except one on the front passenger, but I have the bulb to replace it. Okay, I will check to see if I'm getting power to the sockets when I get out to the truck next. I also just installed a new flasher last night still to no avail.
-
I'm pretty sure the gauge was from a 6cyl. So I should take this back and find a 4cyl one? I cleaned the ground under the driver side light and reattched it, but the turn signals still do not work.
-
I didn't get the sending units, but I will get some new ones from the parts store. Just seems better to get those new. But what about the other gauges? like the battery, and the tach?
-
Hey everyone, I have an 87 comanche with a 4cyl, I went out to one of my local pick and pull. I got a gauge cluster out of a renix model Jeep, but none of my guages are working. I know I need to hook some stuff up or add something for the gauges. Can anyone help me out? I'd greatly apreciate it! Also, I need some help with my turn signals. I have checked the ground, swaped the relay, and the fuse looks good. The hazard lights work, but no turn signals.
