TPS ?

I have an '89 comanche eliminator 2wd 4.0 that started to not start occationally, no spark. Then it finally quit altogether. Well I have tested some things and replaced a few things. I have replaced the coil, distributer(used), CPS (new) and the fuel pump balast (it was cracked). in that order. It did get spark to the plugs after the CPS change and it will start and idle smooth but when trying to rev it a little to pull out it backfires and has no power. I'm stumped :( any ideas out there would be appreciated. Dave aka jsmoe
