  1. Looking for a comanche short box, mines rusted around the wheel arches, and starting to rust out under the tail lights. I have a tail gate and tail lights so I don't need that. Mainly want a box thats little to no rust and very small dents or no dents. Looking to pay around $500.
  2. Hey I'm fixing up my 1990 Jeep MJ short box and I need to fix the drivers side bedside(rotted right out), I could probably use a panel from a 2dr xj and make it fit then fill the gas tank hole but id much rather prefer to get an entire bedside if possible or make my own panel(2dr xj panel isnt big enough anyway), so I'm wondering where I could get a bedside if they make replacement ones, and has anyone ever tried out the fiberglass flared bedsides? how do they attach to the rest of the bed? I have looked around for a short bed in good shape around but no one around has one in good shape, the only other MJ locally is rotted out worse then mine.
  3. Thanks, The comanche that was for sale that I was going to buy was sold today...The guy said the ealiest I could meet is next Sunday, so I assumed I couldnt go and look at it or buy it any ealier and he ended up emailing me saying it will be sold today to another guy. I guess I lucked out...
  4. ok, that would make alot of sense, i assumed that the 4.0L came in the comanches since day one.
  5. I'm assuming you were planning on doing it with your MJ and thats how you found out? i wonder why they changed the firewall between those years...
  6. that's only if he's swapping a 4.0 into an 86 MJ so an 89 2.5L has room for a 4.0L? what does the 86 have in it that takes up room?
  7. i was in a rush writing that post, i ment to ask if the 4.0L will fit(which i assume it will), and i guess you guys answered my question about not being able to run a long box on the short box frame without modifying the brackets, etc.
  8. I'm looking for another frame and cab for my Comanche Project because mines bent and theres a 1989 Comanche for Sale on the local online classifieds for $300 and i want it but it needs to be the same frame as mine. its an 89 with 4x4 but its the 4cylinder gasser. looks like its a 5ft box, the gas fillup isn't as close to the fender as my comanche and mines a 7ft box but i don't know the difference other then length. mines an 89 comanche with a 7ft box and its got a 4.0L and 4x4, i don't know if there is a difference in wheel-base etc. i don't mind running a short box so long as my driveshaft from my comanche is the same and i can swap everything over without shortening anything etc.
