  1. So I was reading up on changing out a distributor on a 2.5 and it says to remove factory plug harness from PCM that plugs into the distributor and a connector located by the coil. Ünder my coil there is an empty plug socket whereas there are 2 other connectors that are plugged in right next to this empty socket. Then off my distributior I have a 3 wire connector plug hanging off not connected to anything. This thing runs good. A bit rough at idle but runs and drives fine. Now how is this so? Without timing input from the PCM on the distributor? This connector won't reach to where that empty socket is or even fit for all I know but this thing has so many random unplugged wires around the engine bay I think the previous owner did a bad engine swap. By the way i have a 86' mj custom 2.5 5 speed and am mainly asking where this plug goes that's hanging off my distributor?
  2. ill try and take a pic tomorrow but i have like fully grown man fist chunks missing from near the rear edge, 2 random spots in the center of the board, then three missing 1/2 inward chunks missing from the front edge of the headliner, if u know what i mean? you think i can fix this with liquid fiberglass forming it to follow the countour or flatness of the headliner foam board? seems body shop work-ish, but ill give it a shot. where should i buy it, likie o'reillys or home depot or what edit: so i buy the fiberglass resin like from home depot like http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202077791/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=fiberglass&storeId=10051#.UIyXnoaDqSo then buy the fiberglass cloth or the weave? and try and fill in the holes or atleast put some material in there then fiberglass over it?
  3. so my mjs factory headliner fell to pieces, not just the fabric but the thicker padding thats glued to the foam, then some of the foam came off in chunks. i have a guy who sanded down my dodge rams headliner n put new fabric on do u think he can like bondo up the foam so its in shape with the rest of the headliner then respray it and put fabric on? or is there a material i coulld use, a putty of some sort, to patch up the foam portions before i take it to him to re-line?
  4. this motor just causes a ruckus idling, its loud and clangy like lifter slap or maybe a loose timing chain hitting against a bad timing tensioner?? i don't know, it runs great when going, pulls decent as a 2.5L will. but when idling it just sounds like crap. it has 333,000 on the odometer, previous owner said he got it from a dealership who said that the guy that sold it to them had a newer engine put in, but its still a tbi 2.5L, so i think this is a lie, but i have wire connections that lead nowhere all around the engine bay. its like I'm missing tons of connections but i have no idea what theyre for, tried tracking them down and I'm a decent electrician and have worked on many 4.0L cherokees so i figured the harness couldnt be too different for this comanches 2.5L. i mean even the wire w/ plug coming out of the distributor doesnt have anything to attach to, how does this work? how can the timing advance during higher rpms with no input from the computer or anything? also its not blowing out any heat, only outside air temperature through the vents or windshield, so i know i have vaccuum and its okay in that department but I'm not getting heat. what could this be? thanks for any input guys here's the truck:
