  1. I'm having some serious starting issues. I have a 91 4.0 and I'm assuming its a HO. Can codes be pulled on these trucks for this year like on a cherokee. 3 key turns to on and flashing codes? I tried it with no luck. I'm not getting any start after replacing the cps, pump, filter. help a brotha out!!
  2. not in this post. It is showing about 40psi during cranking.
  3. ok, so I replaced cps, nothing. still cranking and not starting. AGain, when I check hte fuel pressure I'm good. I can use the bleeder on the fuel pressure gauge and keep it running. So, I'm assuming spark is good, and i'm getting good psi to the rail, so are the injectors my last option? is there a fuse for the injectors? Module?
  4. I am getting 40psi during cranking.
  5. sorry, its a 91 6cyl, gas is fresh, its the same gas I'm using to prime it with. Which sensors shoudl I be checking?
  6. so, I finally have pressure at the fuel rail. But now it won't run. Bought this truck a while back and just now started messing with it. Initially had no fuel pressure. Now I have fuel pressure but I'm not getting any starting. I can prime it and keep priming it and it will run, but when I try to hit the accerator it just pops and cracks/stumbles and dies. The exhaust is a little smashed just below the header, but no narrower than a bout an inch and a half. I'm kinda at a loss on this one.
  7. Anyone build their own tail lights? I've seen some on xj's that could work on mj's. I may take this project on as the only tail lights i've found are going for 75 bones or more.
  8. I was going to ask how the paint held up, but it looks like you have repainted
  9. replaced the pump but now i have a leak at the filter. it made pressure on initial start attempt. then nothing. feels like theres a clog at the filter but didnt have time to check
  10. Whats the highest we can lift these trucks before driveshaft mods are necessary?
  11. got a new fuel pump and we're good to go, thanks for all the help
  12. ok, i'll test those tomorrow morning. the switch is at the bottom of the column in the cab?
  13. where is the switch. the relay is clicking when i turn the truck on
  14. i'm sorry i meant i think my pump is bad. nothing to the rail unless i turn the key back and forth a few times
  15. will an 87 4.0 gas tank work in my 91 4.0? I think my sending unit is bad and I have a line on a whole setup pretty cheap
  16. alright cool, thats what I was thinking. I'm gonna bang on the tank and see if the pickup will start to work again, change fuel filter and see what happens :hateputers:
  17. just tryed it again and nothing as far as fuel. looked for a ground on the tank, but didnt' see anything.
  18. well, I haven't put a gauge on it, but it doesn't seem like it does much but spit when I push the little tang in.
  19. So finally got the comanche to start after replacing all the missing engine fuses. now it won't run. It will start on either, or when primed with gas, but it won't start on its own. whats next to check. will it run with ether if the cps is not working? or because it will start and run on gas that its primed with does that mean the cps is working?
  20. lets hope its that simple. the kid I bought it from told me it was a long bed, and said the blower motor didn't work...well, i get it home and its a short bed and the blower didn't work because he didn't turn the heater on :dunno:
  21. Thanks guys, I'm definitely missing some fuses. I'm missing the engine control and fuseblock fuses. would that keep it from starting? its cranks, gets fuel but no start. I need to check the cps, but I'm hoping i'll get lucky and these two will fix my issue.
  22. I should have put it in the first post. Mines a 91 and I'm talking about the one in the cab and the one in the engine compartment.
  23. I'm working on an MJ I just bought and the fuse boxes look a little bare. anyone have a pic of both fuse boxes and their fuses?
