The rear bumper is mine each piece was cut, welded and grinded took forever but well worth it. It by far is one of the best pieces of the truck. Ever since I built the fairlead in to my buggies bumper it has become my favorite look, I am still working on the winch which I got for free it was in rough shape to I took it apart and am slowly greasing painting and putting back together. Got a Viking winch rope that I have to send out to get repaired and am going to have them put a safety thimble on it so it sits flush on the fairlead. I am having an issue with it running rough occasionally but cleaning the IAC motor and the throttle body and hoping that will help.

Well I haven't updated in awhile guess iv just been to busy trying to get it done, I finally got the jeep paint after giving up and had the dealer I work at, body shop paint it. Everything went together fairly easily ended up using the entire wiring harness not a bit of manche wiring left. I will eventually get pictures of it but for the lights I used the XJ lights and used a dremel to open up the slot on the MJ tail light housing to fit the light sockets. Being that the original XJ lights were tail/brake top light and the middle was a just turning signal light I cut a tail/stop top socket out of an XJ in the junk yard and wired it to where both top and middle red panels on the MJ tail lights would function as tail lights. Now the top panel or socket is brake and the middle is turn signal but both top and middle illuminate as tail. I wish I had more tech but I suck at remembering and taking pictures but here's a teaser shot before I finish the rear bumper and get the front trim on this Christmas then I will post the real pictures.

Well here is a few updates not all the fun ones but those will be shown at the end of the build. The wiring nightmare, I did figure out how to use the entire xj harness including the pigtails from the rear lights in to the MJ housing. (still have a few things I'm changing but once that's done ill be posting it up) The poor old XJ

Been waiting till I got closer to being done. Iv seen a few threads where people collect to sell to members. Getting close to painting my 99 conversion (starting to collect the final pieces needed) and was hoping to get a decent set to match everything else. Faded is fine that can be fixed however looking for a set that is not cracked like the ones I have now. Located in Tampa Florida Let me know what you got. Thanks Mike

Just ordered a Chevy dome light off ebay believe it was for a 99 something Silverado has the pigtail and everything. Looked like it clips to the headliner depending on how heavy it is I may look in to the magnet idea.

that link has some great ideas i love the 10in led light bar as a back up light. Lol Thanks for all the ideas i will be checking in to all of them and will update with finished pictures.

The paint I am doing a nason single stage for the door jams and engine bay, then for the exterior I will be putting down the nason single stage but also finishing it off with a limco clear coat.

Some updates finally getting the firewall and back window area to paint took some time. The rest of the engine bay which is frame will be por15 and so will the interior. And for the color I decided on 05-06 jeep wrangler impact orange Also last night I noticed 4 hole on the front of the frame that looks like they are spaced correctly to bolt a winch to, haven't had time to put one up and see just curious if anyone knows if that is indeed the case. Thanks and enjoy hopefully things will move along more quickly now.

Hey guys I am getting ready to start my interior, I already plan to pick up a new headliner from the guy on here that sells them via ebay. I have seen were people have added overhead consoles to the headliner, however I want to do a just a light close to the middle of the cab in the headliner believe it will be as simple as cutting and hole and welding a bracket for it to bolt to the roof. My question is has anyone done this and do you have any recommendations on which light to use, if I can find one aftermarket that is great but have come up short on that, my other idea was to find a simple light out in the junk yard off of another vehicle. Looking for just a basic square light with black trim ring on or off switch plan for it to come one with doors opening and if I switch the interior lights on via factory knob. If you got a truck or car with a light like I am looking for please let me know what it is so I have a place to start. Thanks Mike

Not a picture update but things are still moving along pretty good, between work, school, and other things popping up I haven't gotten as much done as id like. I got the doors swapped over, latches, seats, and fixed the driver side floor. Managed to get the back glass out and body work around it, I also put por15 in the windshield frame as I had a little bit of rust (only rust iv found on the truck). Should be painting the engine bay, door jams, interior and windshield areas in the next week or two.

A few things not shown is I got the steering and brake support moved over, who ever was in charge of spot welding on the 99 XJ was determined to make sure the brackets never came off. Also got the a/c and heater core box moved over, I have two spots on the upper lip extended to bolt in the top of the dash but still have 3 or 4 more spots to do. I still have the bracket holding the small electric module to mount and the fuse block on the passenger side kick panel area to do. By the end of next weekend I am hoping to have the dash ready to be bolted in after paint the seat brackets moved over from the xj and a section of the trans tunnel replaced where it looks like some dropped a 200 pound block on it. I also changed the name of the thread as this vehicle has gone in a completely different direction then I ever could have imagined when I bought it.
