CWLONGSHOT
On my way to work this AM, I noticed a burning smell, like brakes. Al mine are new last spring, so I figured someone near me must have some issues......NOT!! I walked around the jeep and touched each rim. Lo and behold the rear pass side was pretty hot!!! I only have a short trip and its all back roads, so I decided to just drive home easy. Half way there, I found my braking power severely diminished!! I removed the wheel and drum and look what I found.... I also had some lining fall out on the ground... I THINK I found my problem...now to find out why.... Everything appears to be fine, the wheel cylinder works and releases. Springs are/where all new and these where quality brakes. All I can figure is that maybe the adjusters tightened up this side a bit more and heated and caused the adhesive failure. Dunno, but kinda scary.... Well I got to trim my wheel studs and again put on my spacers.... Its seemingly all fine now. I'll swap tires to my wheeling tires for the up coming season and re check and adjust everything. One more thing...damn limited slip in the ECTED is so tight it makes adjusting shoes by feel damn near impossible!!!! CW
