jkchr1s
I have a 1987 Comanche SporTruck 4x4 short wheel base for sale with 271,272 miles on the odometer. I bought this to restore during COVID and ended up building a TJ instead. I believe it has a 2" lift installed. The installed engine is drive-able on to a trailer, but has a very bad bottom end knock and is not long for this world. This MJ originally came equipped with a Renix 4.0, but a previous owner swapped in an XJ 4.0 and bolted on the Renix head. I purchased an '88 Renix 4.0 to put in it, had the block machined, new oil pump, new cam, crank turned, new pistons, new rings, new timing set, and full head rebuild. It just needs a timing cover, push rods, and head bolts and it'll be ready to assemble. When I purchased this engine it also included a Renix intake and exhaust manifold. All of this will be included with the MJ. I replaced the booster and master cylinder with new WJ parts. Replaced MJ calipers, wheel cylinders, rotors, pads, and shoes. I also replaced several brake lines on it. It will safely stop now with no issues. It has an AW4 auto transmission. It shifted in to all 4 gears back in 2020 when I drove it home, but it has not really driven since (the front axle tubes started leaking oil badly, and the engine will barely run). The 4wd works, but the front axle needs new seals. I have no idea how many miles are on the transmission, or if it's original. Also included are a set of 4 black steelie wheels with 33x12.50 Chapparel mud terrain tires. There's also the original seat with frame (the cover and padding were in very, very poor condition) and a better condition (but mismatching blue) bench seat that needs to be re-covered. I removed the carpet (it was very smelly) and found that both driver and passenger side floor pans have rust damage. The seals in the windows are long gone, so water had been seeping under the carpet and rotting away the floor boards. The driver's side door latch needs to be replaced on the body. The Jeep had a front-end hit that put some dents on the body, and some dents on the transmission tunnel (pics in the attached restoration thread). Originally I wanted to get a totalled XJ and swap the interior, but life changed and I focused on restoring my TJ instead. You can see pics of the transmission tunnel, floor boards, and some of the undercarriage on one of my other posts: I have the title in hand for this MJ. I'm asking $3000 OBO, mainly to recoup the extra engine and parts that are included.
