Gutizz
Hi there, new to the site and hopefully make new manche friends.. I'm from Dallas TX and have one of many questions, but as of right now, this is what I have that I can find an answer. I found a 88 Comanche from an old fellow, its in great shape. Rust free body and looks like its been a Texas truck its whole life. Well, its a 2.5, 4 speed, 2 wheel drive with 3.55 rear end. As many have done, I too want to convert to a 4x4. I found a 84 cherokee donor that had the 2.8 V6, (past owner got it for the motor for his comanche and placed his 2.5 in it) Also it came with the 5 speed 4x4 and from what i can tell counting the turns on the diff, I think it has 3.73 gears. Reason I say "I think" is because theres no ID tag on the diff as my manche, also I opened the rear diff and the number stamping is different from the Dana markings that Ive seen here on the site and google. Any of you guys recognize the numbers? I know that dividing the last two sets of numbers gives you the gear ratio, but in this case its the first two sets of numbers that leads me to 3.73. The numbers reads "11 41 603 03 01" No letters at all. I can't figure out yet how to load a pic to this post.. i will keep trying. Any input I would really appreciate. Hippie66
11 41 would be the gear count... Pinion has 11 teeth Ring gear has 41 41÷11= 3.
