SOLD

I'm dabbling with the idea of selling my MJ to focus on other more important life activities and thought maybe one of my fellow CC'ers might be interested in giving it a home.  I have almost every receipt for every part I bought for the truck plus the donor XJ.  Title is in my name.  I took my sweet @$$ time on this truck and cut no corners.

The truck runs and drives just fine.  Granted it has a hair of bump steer that I know the source of.  The truck would come with every part I stripped from a running and driving 1999 XJ (I have the title, but did not register it for obvious reasons) for the next owner to finish the conversion.  The work left is to swap the engine/trans/dash/etc.

About the 1987 MJ;

Originally a North Carolina truck.  I flew down and drove it back to NY (not a problem on the drive).  It was in the original owners family since new, until I bought it.  Its straight up rust free.  Short bed, 4.0L, AW4, NP231.

According to the mileage I was told by the PO, the truck has about 94k miles on it now.  Odometer reads about 138k because the PO swapped the cluster to a full cluster so I really can't confirm "actual" mileage.  Honestly, it doesn't really matter.

There was some @#$%ery done to the wiring (not by me) for the full cluster and a faulty ignition switch, but everything works.  I just like things to be OEM and clean, so the wiring bothered me.

The rig runs and drives and I have driven it 4hrs upstate to Lake George without so much as a hiccup.  However, the engine (original) sounds pretty crappy.  I think it has a collapsed lifter.  I have replaced the rockers, inspected the pushrods, etc.  The engine ticks and I was never interested in opening it up.  I figured I'd correct all the little nonsense that bugged me and make her a 1999 MJ.

All from 1999 XJ

Engine, trans, transfer case all have 94k original miles.  All harnesses are there and unmolested.  All nuts/bolts.

All driveline parts (fly wheel, flex plate, etc. etc.) are included

Dakota fuel tank

Black dash, black seats, black console.

Re-use old carpet or get new

Basically every part needed for the swap is included.  My plan was to change every single gasket and aux. engine part I could get too, but thats up to the future owner.

Buy the truck, drive away with all the swap parts in the bed.  Easy Cheezy.

Extra MISC

Red mint condition hood

RT Offroad, SS header (NIB)

Heat/sound insulation for interior

1 Gal. total Deltron Kaiser Silver Matallic Base Paint (Dark metallic grey, Acura NSX color, its the tits) (Totals 1 gal sprayable material)

Remainder of 1 gal PPG DP40 Epoxy Primer +

Remainder of 1 gal PPG Shopline high build

1 Gal. PPG Shopline clear coat

(FYI Paint materials cost me about $800)

What "needs" to get done?

Body work, paint, 99+ swap...not necessarily in that order.  Or just paint it and have a badass MJ.
