CWLONGSHOT Posted August 3, 2009 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Looks just like mine did!!! Seems to be a daunting task, but mine went very well. A couple other guys here have also done this. You need some basic tools, a welder and high speed grinder as well as steel. I used 1/8". A couple pointers: Cut out and treat all bad steel. POR 15 is your friend!! Mask/respirator is advised. Use the high speed grinder with a twisted cup brush. A sawzall helps but isn't necessary. Make repairs at least 6" bigger then hole. "Fish mouth" the ends of all repair panels. Welding in flat straight repair panels actually creates a weak spot in your frame. Again, check out my build thread for lots of pics and descriptions.
