ICEBOX
I need help .On my 88 XJ. Everything was fine till the other day I go to start the jeep and nothing. As i held the key in the start position the 2 brown wires on the NSS started smoking ! I have tried a new starter relay, unhooking the starter. and still smokes the wires. i have removed the NSS and and jumped the 2 brown wires, same thing . I will try changing the ignition switch tomarrow .The diagrams I have on it do not show everything. so I can not find the problem. Any one else had the problem ? :help: :ack: :wall:
ICEBOX
Ok found the Smoking wire problem . the ignition switch under the collum. there is a 10 guage brown wire that someone had repaired with a cripmed terminal . I looked at the switch and I noticed blueing on that same terminal . I opened up the switch and the bad conection caused it to melt into the plastic housing . giving it to much resistance I assume . replace the switch and It's fixed now ! woot .
