  1. Hey! New here and wanted to pass this along. Bought a Comanche about a month ago. Made it home no problem even though I was told it had a cooling issue. Seems to cool just fine. I did however blow the fusible link to the ignition switch a hundred yards from the house heading out to go four wheeling. After @#$%ing around with it off and on for the last couple of weeks I finally found the problem. There is a wiring harness that runs above the parking break pedal. It's about 3/4 of an inch in diameter, a mass of wires. This mass has been rubbing on the pedal bracket for 30 years and finally rubbed through the insulation. I put an in line fuse where the link was. Burned a few fuses thinking the damned thing had fixed itself trying to go somewhere. Ha. I noticed twice that when I released the parking break the truck died. That gave me the idea of where to look. Found it! @#$% me! After I did a half @$$ fix on it I had a great afternoon of 4 wheeling and gold prospecting. Hope this helps someone in the future.
