  1. I recently bought a fairly clean '89 MJ, 4.0, 5 speed. It's been running great, until this weekend. To start out... Fuel gauge was not working when I bought the truck, fuel pump was noisy. I replaced the pump with one from O'Reilly's (Slight modification to bracket to make it fit properly). Also repaired a bad wire and got the gauge working. I ran about 13 gallons out of the tank. The last few miles, it was cutting out and really down on power, but made it home. Replaced the inline fuel filter. In doing so, I had some nasty fuel poor out of the old filter. Red and rusty looking. Also replaced the spark plugs. Still not running right. Could the bad fuel have cause issues with a sensor, or do I need to pull the injectors and clean (or upgrade) them? Thanks
