  1. I recently purchased an 87 Base with a 4.0 engine and Auto Trans. the Vin tells me this baby had a Manual transmission, but it now has an auto. Finally got the engine runing smooth and went to work on the brakes. Nobody seems to be able to supply me with the correct calipers for the Jeep. What the parts people come up with does not work, they sit to "high" (caliper piston is about 1/3 above the rotor) and the pin to attach it is too large to thread in.. BTW, I no longer have the origional calipers (I know - dumb) so I can't rebuild them. Any help of suggestions would be appreciated. . .Thanks
