Whitaker717
Hey guys I am having an issue with my blower motor fan speed. When it is in low I hear it. Next step up it blows a bit harder. When I get to halfway or 3rd level up, the speed drops down below the second level. High works full blast. I thought the blower miter resistor was going bad so I replaced it. It still does the exact same thing. Any idea what I can check next? I’m a bit at a loss here. Is there a relay or fuse or anything I am missing? Maybe a ground? I’m not sure what is going on. Pete M
what's the condition of the harness connector behind the hvac controls?
eaglescout526
Have you done the ground mod for it as well?

eaglescout526
Definitely might want to check the connector at the switch and make sure the switch isnt gunked up. And make sure there isnt resistance across the resistor connector to the switch connector.

eaglescout526
Both the grey and the one at the HVAC panel that controls your fan speed. They are the same wire harness and checking to make sure the wire isnt melted from the blower switch to the resistor is free of resistance. I figured the resistor is good only because you replaced it with no change. Usually its obvious when a resistor blows on ours.

Whitaker717
Well I somehow got it fixed for now. I screwed in my new resistor and sprayed some contact cleaner in the plug. I have the middle speed now. I will say it looks like the plug where the tan or light brown wire is, is a bit melted but not bad. Down the road how would I go about fixing that plug? Pete M
get a replacement and splice it in.
Whitaker717
Hey buddy I have a question for you. Can you get me a part number for a Mopar idle air control valve? I think I’m going to change mine out. I get this random high idle and I just put in my modified throttle body and it just happened the other day. Sounded like my engine was going to blow up. It finally went down after turning it on and off a few times. Thanks buddy
Pete M
I'm assuming a 4.0? you should put some basic truck info in your signature. 8350 3643 out of my OG 6" thick parts manual. may be superseded since then.
