Johnnyutah
Does anyone have any idea what this wire is? I think it might be the oil pressure sending wire. It cracked off of this little nut here while I was changing the oil, I barely touched it so it must have been old.
Ωhm
Is that a wire or is it tubing?
Johnnyutah
I can’t quite tell, it feels like a one of those tiny straws but it also seems like a wire.
Ωhm
Are you running an oil pressure gauge somewhere. Not a sending unit or idiot light, those are electrical.
Johnnyutah
Yes I think that was to the oil pressure gauge (installed before I bought the truck) as it’s not working now. Does anyone have a thread on upgrading the gauge cluster? The gauges are the one thing I really don’t like about the xj/mj and id really like to have something like what a tj has. eaglescout526
Year would help us but if youre MJ has Renix, an idiot light cluster or a gauge cluster is all you get. HO its "digital" but only the speedo and tach are. HO XJ Gen II swap would yield you the cluster you want but you have to do a whole interior swap to 97-01. Both HO swaps require you to change the engine management. As far as the clusters being "good", clean the grounds and all the connections at both the sensors and cluster and it should read pretty accurately. Aftermarket sensors are known to be off about 10-20% in accuracy. Mopar still makes the oil sensor but not the temp.
