If you see some things you want and can’t get them I can go grab them and sell them to you if they are still there, like the beadliner, rear window, bench seat, carpet, etc. I did grab the rear fender flares, clock, and B-pillar bezels+ vents and plan to sell them. Also, there was an Olympic sticker above the Comanche badge. Did someone add that or is this an Olympic edition?3CC818A3-EC2A-4E90-B8DF-E589A5FC16B6.jpeg.965f5a74a6b96a648eb1d2f465c74c8f.jpeg

To answer your question Warren99, I have an Olympic edition one, so I found old factory brochures on them and they said all the Olympic editions came with US Olympic decals and gold tape striping, mine has the gold strip even though heavily faded on mine you still should see it on that one, I don’t see it from pictures u sent so I would say no Olympic edition, but maybe someone knows if the bed liner  has the Comanche name stamped in it is that factory

I can certainly re-make the fender decal, however I don't know if I've ever actually seen that before.  I wonder if it's an extra decal that someone just slapped on?  I have the rear window decals available--DM me for details.

@Bezerk1 -- Can you do a better picture/scan of the Olympic brochures?  Those are pretty cool.

From what I’ve seen, only the Olympic edition Pioneers had the Pioneer emblem, all others had the Pioneer stripes which would make this an Olympic if the emblems are original.

@boxyjeep those are the OEM Olympic decals that accompany the gold Olympic stripe on the ‘88 Olympic Pioneers.

What a shame, probably my favorite color offered, and with low miles and being a 2wd that body is probably damn near perfect, such a shame what people throw away these days

Front license plate mount on the XJ is worth a snag too. Those sell very quick to any XJ and MJ person.

Wouldn’t have expected that. I went today so I’ll have to grab that whenever I go back. How much would ppl usually pay for those?

@eaglescout526

I grabbed the side moulding. As said before all were there except the one on the driver side bed behind the cab. What’s a shame is there’s a decent dent there, so there’s a chance it was popped off by the wheel loader guy when they were moving the truck around the yard.

I also got the top plastic steps, and lights from the rear bumper. I didn’t bother with the end caps bc the nuts were rusty and wanting to round off. I also got the rear window and rain gutters. I thought abt getting the bedliner but I personally don’t think I’d ever use it, and it did have some screw holes on the top. Interestingly this truck used to have a bed cover. But anyways if someone wants that bedliner I’ll go get it for you, I just can’t seem to justify having it sit around.F9D6CF04-6627-437F-B127-4032309DFDF1.jpeg.ddc41d0a52d89f6a2228a6a123f20acd.jpeg77FC722E-DC22-4552-BBF9-0B26DCE4456F.jpeg.a4ad7b214a2915163ab52373aa7af013.jpeg

The truck was resprayed hence the discussion. People either seemed to hate or love the graphics. Those that hate them often remove them. I have a lwb Olympic pioneer, have extra panels, have seen multiple different Olympic mjs and xjs, and can concur those are definitely the correct graphics. You can clearly see the original faded paint where the sticker was missing on the fender. It was masked for an overspray paint job. The current paint wouldn't match the vin code. I've never seen an xj or mj blue Olympic pioneer exterior that didn't have the navy blue 88 interior. I still question any xj or mj that isn't an 88 or early 89 with navy blue interior to be original. Navy blue is far more rare than black. Too bad we'll most likely never have complete recorded proof. I'll buy the window crank handles if you go back. A friend of mine is looking for some. I can't tell from the picture if the steering wheel is navy blue on the wheel. If so, I'd probably buy that too along with the horn button if it's still there which I think I saw in a pic posted. That xj might have some extremely hard to find interior as well. I'm very curious about it's interior. I'm guessing there might be far more demand for it depending on what it has. Regardless, nice find and looking like you had a good day.

Are there two different kinds of blue interiors, or just all Navy? The wheel didn’t look that bad, but I didn’t have a puller.

The XJ was very nasty, but some pieces could def be used for someone that needs them.FD7A8919-CA80-4E31-BF3C-75B8B1E482A4.jpeg.71adf5c5a2c91f70d9061a18d8c28e39.jpegAA17AB7E-AD95-4F60-9E11-339F2A564FCB.jpeg.8ed109788031319c00b4c270d5ed1f1c.jpeg3BBE2668-66B6-48A4-9DD9-5BC2E8119041.jpeg.c760927580f2b937e9fda53c371373c1.jpeg117CCFC3-E290-4BCB-B88E-12EAAE7BBB0B.jpeg.75dd425356251c72354b9f6dd2b5d093.jpeg791228B0-CB3D-4CB6-89F8-CDE665A14C00.jpeg.27745c3176cfb5271ca367dda9fb1a7b.jpegD2154A9F-3A69-41C6-BD50-BDD89AE5AEEC.jpeg.2c242615fe497376f78f06feb7fcf9f3.jpegCC12BFE9-03FF-4437-B833-F7566538C5CC.jpeg.4c064fdd59d3e4627cb2ed1dc871692e.jpegFABE3294-6329-43DA-9AEF-2537E91F94F9.jpeg.b87be45565e19c77b62621a33fc16fd5.jpeg59CC60A0-8555-4BDF-9EF1-7221A7A9F1FE.jpeg.052c387dc3b41543a3d70b53bbd06cfe.jpeg

Those "4 wheel drive" nameplates (55005317) on the rear quarter are a rare part.  Later ones were "4x4", then around 93 they became just a sticker.

Hard to tell from the lighting, are the spokes on the steering wheel black? Or bare stainless?

Black spokes was an early rare option.  Either way, leather covered steering wheels are always worth grabbing if the leather is in good shape.

Ashtrays in the rear door panels?  Not sure I've ever seen those before.

The chrome front and rear bumpers, if good, would be something someone would eventually buy.  Also, if that's a factory hitch, it might be worth grabbing- but also the factory nut plates that hold the hitch on.  The nut plates are inside the unibody channel, and you have to pull the rear bumper, and the hitch, to get them out.  You can tell if it has them because the hitch will be held on with bolts.  If there are studs sticking out of the unibody, and the hitch is held on with nuts, then those are carriage bolts and steel plates in there that have to be fished in.  Reproduction hitch nut plates go for $40-$100 a pair and work on XJs all the way to 2001.

Also, if that's a factory hitch, it may have the factory trailer wiring adapter.  It is a plug and play deal.  The connectors are behind the rear quarter panel, behind the spare tire.  There will be a relay pack, often covered in a padded jute or foam wrap.  The harness will run through a rubber grommet in the lower inner fender body panel to the trailer plug. Even if the 7 way trailer plug is trashed, a newer one can be spliced on, the trick method is to get a late model Chrysler/Jeep 7 way plug that has a weather shielded harness plug in on the back side and splice that in.  Then the trailer connector itself can be easily replaced if it is damaged.  The only thing is the connectors on the adapters changed over the years, so it may only work on those very early models, which limits the selling market somewhat.

I don't know how I completely forgot about the sending unit. But as far as the XJ goes, I'd love to grab all kinds of stuff but I'm 18 still living with my parents and they wouldn't be too thrilled about me bringing a lot of parts home to just sit and wait for someone to buy them. I still may be able to grab some stuff tho.
