Hey everyone!

I just wanted to share my Comanche on auction right now at bringatrailer.com

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-jeep-comanche-17/

I really enjoyed building this over the last couple years and really appreciate the help I received from everyone on this forum.

Plans have changed and I am trying to gather funds to build a new house for the family so I’m selling off some toys, and the Comanche is one of them to go!

Any serious inquires or questions can be made on the bringatrailer.com website.

Thank you all!

Not to get off topic here but what tire size is that? You achieved a nice stance there with the notch flares also. Approx how much is it lifted?

I'll have to send this to my wife so she believes me when I tell her my truck is actually worth something

Been trying to convince the wife for years that my automotive obsession makes money! It's just me that makes people the money.

What was the process to list on BaT?

The process is, you provide information in pre canned forms and as many photos as you want.  You get assigned a listing agent that writes the ad and works with you to get it perfect.  There is usually a fairly long waiting period between the time you finally submit and the time it lists.  There is also time between the time you submit the vehicle, they are choosy and are motivated to sell as they don't make much of they don't sell.  The fee structure is awesome for sellers, there is a $99 listing fee, and then a 5% buyers fee that is capped at $100k for the value of the car, so the largest buyers fee could be $5000.

They are a delight to work with, listed three vehicles with BaT and managed to sell two, an 88 Comanche and an 85 Ferrari 308gtsi.  The Mini I listed didn't meet reserve and the buyer wasn't interested in making a deal.

I'd recommend listing any older enthusiast vehicle with them, but remember they are realistic.  They expect it to have a realistic market based reserve or no reserve, else they won't list.  They will not allow people to relist if the vehicle doesn't meet reserve but the seller does have the ability to drop the reserve at any point during the auction.  The only time a vehicle gets relisted is if a buyer backs out , at which point that buyer will be banned from the website and BaT will explain the circumstances.  Absolutely a stand up group that runs them.

I used to follow BAT until they got so many vehicles l couldn’t look at them all in a short enough time so l lost interest.

i check the premium listings every once in a while but otherwise I agree.  its incredible how many vehicles that are listed at a given time.

I recently sold my first and probably last thing on there, (neon sign not a car). What I do not like about it is that unlike eBay where there are some  buyer and seller protections, all BAT does is take their cut from each of you and give you each others contact info. They recommend a bank transfer for payment. I can tell that there is no way that I would buy an old vehicle without inspecting it first especially via bank transfer.   I would have rather written the ad myself as the agent left out info that I gave him and I had to try to explain things in the comment section.
