ISO - (generally) Rust Free MJ carcass

I am searching for a mostly rust free MJ carcass that I could swap over my 86's running gear into. While my trusty, rusty, 86 runs great and drives prefect down the road, the cab and frame are succumbing to aggressive rust (again) and the bed is crumbling apart.

Ideally the perfect carcass candidate would be a long bed truck (so I can reuse my existing lwb topper) with no interior, drivetrain or suspension but with all of the sheet metal. I also wouldn't turn down a decent short bed carcass. With (or without) title. I am located in the middle of Kansas and am willing to drive practically anywhere for the right carcass.

I know it's a long shot, but perhaps you know of a guy (or are 'the guy') with a long lost project, donor or parts truck shell that needs a new home.

So I recently picked this guy up to strip parts from. 89 2WD LWB, really good bones/sheet metal. HOWEVER I'm going to be cutting out the outer B-pillars and rockers, and I'm pulling the rear axle and springs for another project. Something I'm planning in the next few months. Would you be interested in the leftover carcass, that would include the entire front clip and 2WD axle, motor (non-running and missing parts) & tranny, front cab minus the outer b-pillars & rockers, doors, stripped interior, and rear frame?

I'd buy that thing in a heartbeat as it sits! However, once the cab gets cut up it basically becomes the same project that my truck currently is :( Thanks for checking though.

I've never been to RI. Would be a fun trip, that's for sure. How are the floors/rockers/cab corners and 'frame' on that truck? Was it originally a Northeast truck? It looks way better than my 86 did when I drug it home from a long life in Iowa.

It's in good shape cab wide. Litttle floor rot but cab corners and rockers a re in surprisingly good shape.

That truck is quite salvageable, please don’t cut it up.

I took one with less parts on it and saved it. I used the parts off of 2 rusted junk MJ’s and an XJ and it’s a stunning truck now.

I can’t find the final photo but it was converted to a 98 XJ nose and doors and painted silver.

Find me a set of mint B pillars and rockers, and a complete dana44 rear axle with springs and shackles, and rear wiring harness and I'll trade you this rig.

I probably could find some but the 2,700 miles between us is a bit of an obstacle.

I do have an XJ 44 and I have a set of Old Man Emu XJ 3.5” springs that you could cut the eyes off the main leaf and put under your main leaf for a close approximation of a Metric ton leaf set. The sheet metal would be harder to source around here.

There is a short bed Comanche in the Colorado Springs, CO Upull junkyard. The bed is in pristine condition, I assume the interior is too but couldn’t verify because it is covered in disgusting mouse stuff. But, you might give them a call and see if they are willing to pull it from the yard and sell it whole (unsure if legally allowed to). Not too far from the middle of Kansas. It is also right at the end row of vehicles so it’d be quite easy to pull out I think. Hope it can be saved.
