briley_t
To see current pictures of the Jeep, I post them mostly on Instagram under my page @sixfeetunderlj but I figured Id share my Comanche build. I bought the jeep a few years ago as a project truck. The jeep started life as a four-cylinder 2wd drive truck. When I got it someone had completely stripped the drive train, the interior, all the wiring, gas tank, etc. Everything was gone. But it was rust free so I wanted it. With the deal, I got a dana 50, sterling rear axle(didn’t use) seats(didn’t use), and a bunch of odds and ends metal parts. So then I hunted for a 4.0 5speed Cherokee to swap everything over. I found the perfect XJ for $600 and it even had a slip yoke eliminator already installed on the 231 transfer case and a winch bumper. I swapped everything over and had a running Jeep. I really wanted to do a custom shave on that dana 50 for high clearance. I have built dana 60s in the past, wanted to try something different. I ended up using a 14bolt in the rear, I already had gears and locker in with a shave kit. I did unibody stiffeners all the way down both sides. And found a 97 front grill and fenders. I also did the full window conversion, probably my favorite mod on this Jeep. I’m running a set of 7.5” coils and a radius arm set up in the front for right now. I'm looking into changing that soon. I threw on a set of 37in Toyo Mts and trail ready beadlocks. I will update this post more later. I’m looking for more “build”pictures. I really want to do the registry to find out the history on this Jeep.

MiNi Beast
Sweetness. Appreciate your posting here. Love to learn more about the build. Nice rig.
briley_t
So I drove it a little while with a few different colored body panels. But I decided to paint it myself. I just did a went with a deep gray. It definitely looks good from 10ft away but it’s a trail rig. I then got custom “hockey stick” decals made for the truck to break up the boring gray. ThatJeepGuy
Good looking rig, the soft topper is a nice touch as well. Custom fitted or similar vehicle setup?
