Car Enthusiast
Bought this 88 last year for my Stepdaughter. It is her first car and the deal was I buy it and she pays me half by the time she graduates. Once she is done with high school she can either pay for my half and keep the truck, or I will give her the half she has paid for a down payment on something else. The boys love it and always want to get in it. 4.0 5 speed Has a little suspension lift and some nice tires on it from the previous owner, but the doesn't absolve him from the hacking he did on the wiring harness. Car Enthusiast
So removed the bench seat and installed some buckets and a console from a 2000 XJ. Fabbed up some simple brackets to adapt the bench brackets to the bucket seats. Didn't turn out too bad, definitely better than sliding all over the vinyl and feeling like I was going to fall out of the truck when going around a turn. I will say, they sit a little high, but the girls like it since they aren't as tall. After sitting in these and then sitting in the stock seats in my 01 XJ the seem to sit at the same height. I really don't know how you could lower it using the sliders from the newer seats because the bench brackets are almost on the floor and don't give any way to drop it down.
