CGCWO
Was able to move the truck under its own power a little bit today. Had to be patient and get the revs up pretty good to get her to move. Thinking I may be looking at some trans work. Though it could be that it hasn’t been moved or driven in a couple of months and needs some exercise to get things moving. I’ll be doing a filter and fluid change very soon though.
CGCWO
With the help of the good folks here I found the problem. non-existing splice on the wiring harness D1_5 power supply. Now to get her running better and figure out brakes and transmission issues. IMG_3691.MOV
CGCWO
Found my brake light problem. Looks like I must have bumped the old connectors when working under the dash. Upper right (after pic posted) corner of pic, PO did some junk wiring and it failed.
Pete M
ahhh, electrical tape. kinda like duct tape, it's just not right for its namesake.
CGCWO
Made a stumbling/popping and slight back firing trip around the block yesterday. Not a fun drive, but progress. She also got a fresh oil filter and oil along with a new coolant pressure tank and some new antifreeze. Got the new windshield washer motor in and tank reinstalled. We now have windshield washer that works. Found the wiper motor is only mounted with one bolt and rubbing against the wiper arms. Still need to figure out why wipers are super slow. Things are coming together slowly. Transmission still isn’t shifting correctly and doesn’t seem to want to go forward. Seems to be okay in reverse. 4x4 indicator light on dash has randomly started to illuminate when trans is in park and neutral. ? No clue what has caused that. Also need to figure out why gauge cluster lights refuse to illuminate. Placed an order with @NickInTimeFilms for the REM and ordered some new transmission lines to replace the cobbled together one currently on the truck.

CGCWO
Brown Santa came again a couple of days ago. I know it’s not the best quality but for a daily driver it will do. 4.5 Rough Country with lower arms.
CGCWO
I know it’s probably blasphemy but I knocked the chrome off the old front brush guard today. Primed her up with some self etching primer and then shot it with Satin black 2x Rustolem and forgot to take a pic before it got dark. So you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see it. Still a ways off from mounting it, but after chasing the rough idle and poorly shifting trans issues it just feels good to accomplish something.

CGCWO
Lots of vacuum line repair today, sorry no pics. Also cut the old exhaust off behind the cat in preps for new muffler and tail pipe.
CGCWO
While waiting on new dizzy to come in I decided to spend the day finishing checking and refreshing factory splices and cleaning up the wiring harness in the engine bay. No reason I chose yellow and red zip ties just what I pulled out of the stash.
CGCWO
Tomorrow’s projects: new CPS, refreshed the cover that goes over the hole in the trans and will see if I can get it back in place. New brake booster and master cylinder. This one I am not looking forward to, but I need brake help badly.
CGCWO
Also picked this up off marketplace to replace the idiot light cluster. It’s from a 90 RENIX so should be plug and play once I change out the sensors.
Jesse J
that makes me really happy nothing like a clean engine bay

89 MJ
I love a clean engine compartment. That and a nice interior are more important than shiny paint, IMHO.
CGCWO
Productive day; new brake booster installed, new CPS, new dizzy and degreased the engine bay and under side of hood. Also received the BDBTSB winch mount. this goes here
CGCWO
It fits, now to find the right winch to go in there and get the OEM front bumper fitted.
