Ordered this Tuesday, got here Saturday morning. Great service from Classic2Custom in Michigan. Nice, heavy piece of sheet. Looks to be for an XJ but I can work with it and is way better than what I had.  Today, I started peeling the onion.

I figger somebody dumped a Moose cup in the floor back in the day and the sound deadener soaked up all that acidic goodness.  It's not terrible, most of the rot is up high.  I'm chipping away at it. Being an essential member of society doesn't leave me but about a few hours on the weekends. I have some 5/32" sheet cut up and bent ready to be grafted back into the rear frame sandwich

Picked up this rusty gem tonight for $600. 123k miles, 5 speed 4.0, unrun RC 4.5” lift. 
  Guy bought it and lifted it, title was signed in the wrong spot and he gave up, 3 years ago.  
  Runs like a top and shifts good. New header and slip yoke eliminator.

4.0 and 5 speed is bolted in. The 94 xj I picked up for the drivetrain turned out to have a cracked block. I came across a low mile unit out of another xj, swapped the head after a trip to Vanmeters for a boil, pressure check and machine work. The new motor looks great, still has all the cross hatch and the bearings are just barely scuffed. The timing set looked brand new as well so I replaced gaskets and set it in. Now on to stabbing the distributor and wire it up, swap the front axle, flip the rear, build a driveshaft for the rear and drop in lockers.

Motor runs for a minute, badly. Keeps losing the cam sensor. I have one on the counter to be picked up in the morning. 
 

Installed the front axle and springs tonight after werk and some pizza. The 265/75/16 are a tight fit but the 31/10.50’s look pretty good.
