I recently finished building my garage and i have my comanche torn down for a proper complete resto. Ive been going down in the crawl space under my house where i have been hoarding all my "some day" parts. Well i was down there today looking at my factory hidden winch setup and i remember there were people on here that showed intrest in possibly reproducing this item. I would like to offer it up to be copied and or reproduced by anyone under the condition that i receive it back. I can remove the winch itself and ship the brackets. Just just let me know. Would be very east to reproduce all angle iron aside from the factory tow hook brackets which are easy to find on their own.

Obviously this is an heirloom item and i will only send it to reputable who can be vouched for.

I think it would be great to have someone reproduce the hidden winch mounts. One correction: The factory tow hook brackets had two sets of mounting holes; one set mounted the bumper in the stock location, the other set moved the bumper forward several inches to allow space for the hidden winch. As far as I know, none of the currently available aftermarket tow hook brackets have the second set of holes for mounting the bumper in the forward position.

Also, the factory hidden winch kit included fillers to cover the gap between the bumper and the grille.

You are right eagle. What i meant was the tow hooks with the two sets of holes ar more commonplace than the winch cradle itself.

When i had it on m 2000 i did not have a he filler pieces for the gap so i made my own out of abs plastic strips. Looked close to factory.

It does not look difficult to replicate or to improve upon.  I am new to the forum (just bought a 1991 MJ) but it is definately something we could make.  I have a full fab shop with laser.  We are covered up through the end of the year but I don't mind helping out the group as I know I will benefit from your help down the road.

It's good of you to offer. Speaking for myself (see my signature!), I'll just throw out there that IMHO most people who want the factory hidden winch mounts will want an exact duplicate, not an "improved" version. The factory hidden winch option came with either a 5,000 or 6,000 pound winch. Even 20 years ago, most people who were rocking winches on modified XJs were using at least 8,000 pound winches.

It's not actually hard to make. A long time ago I had a CADD drawing of it ... yeah, found it.

I’d pay 💰 big coin for Jeep Special Equipment Ramsey hidden winch setup.

The Boostwerks setup requires dual electric fans and I’d rather keep my engine driven fan.

Ramsey made a special winch for this setup.

The mounting feet were beefed up ...as design of this kit placed pulling load on them.

Part of kit also included a fairlead that was shaped to contour of factory bumper.

Gap fill in panels were just ABS black plastic so easy to recreate.
