GirsMJ86
ok I'm lookin into gettin new axles for my 86. and i was wondering if i need to get a better axle then the 30. and just needed to know if the 30 with 4.10 will work with 33s.
Pete M
At the very least, upgrade your axleshafts and front driveshaft. The 3.4 might be a good match for 4.10s, but 4.56 or 4.88s would be better. It depends on your budget. Jeep on! --Pete
pingpong
If you have an auto 4.10's will due, but run an aux trans cooler. If you have a manula I stroblgy suggest 4.56's or the 4.88's. Patrick
GirsMJ86
well my mj is an auto just to throw that in there also. and what about if i just threw on my 3" lift with 31s? would the set up i have work? or do i still need to upgrade ujoints, axleshafts, front driveshaft, and aux trans cooler, and go higher then 4.11s or not? also i will eventually goin to the bigger lift and tires and the 3.4 but those are not in my budget for right now. so what i need to know is where are some good sites to find everything listed above and also a new d44 carrier to fit the 4.11s and up. because i don't have the yards around me to find parts. also what would some good donor vehicles be for those parts? holeski
What kind of driver are you? I ran 4.10’s with 35”-37” tires on a 30 your 7 years and only broke one shaft due to u-joint failure. That was with an AX-15 tranny. Now lock that same 30 and it won’t hold up long.
