BARILLMS Posted August 26, 2007 Share Posted August 26, 2007 This is my '88 MJ 4.0 Auto, long bed, with the bed/frame bobbed and the roof chopped with an S&W 10 Point Cherokee cage. Spring over rear with a Ford 8.8 with discs, RockKrawler front 6.5" coils and custom Y link long arms, and lots of other cool stuff on 35x14.5x15 boggers. I finally got a pic up! yay! I guess I'm used to it, I should get a 10 slot MJ grille shouldn't I? SO... What do you think of my 10 month build?? Since this pic, I've added a winch bumper and a 9000lb wireless Outback Series T-Max. I'll get more detailed pics soon of more of the build elements, This thing suprises me every time I take it out. The 120" wheelbase is great. I like the cage design. It's ugly. It's gray. It's lifted. It's completely missing fender skins up front. And it appears to still be street legal. I like it! (kinda) But i love it, I've had 3 XJs and a full size Cherokee too... this MJ is my favorite so far. I'll get some good detailed pics of my custom mods, I'm sure some of you will appreciate the way I did my rear spring hangers and, the gas tank relocation. I really wanted to build something different, and I definately accomplished that on a tight budget. It stands out on the trail, and it performs too. The 120" WB is a bit cumbersome in really tight stuff, but climbing steep ledges and rocks the added wheelbase makes my life much easier when CJs and Samis are bouncing for traction. I'm in the process of putting on the winch bumper and winch, and I still have more cage to add onto the existing S&W cage. I'm also thinking tube fenders and a top of some sort, not sure yet? Anyone else chop the top on here? I remeber seeing a video with your truck in action, I think it was on here too. Some more pics would be nice, I'd like to see more of it. As for the chopping the top off, well, I remember not too long ago seeing an MJ on ebay that had the roof and back of the cab cut off of it, but that's as close as I've seen to something like your's.
