chuckliddell101
Hey evryone... just got an '88 comanche. I heard from a buddy that all the pollution control stuff can be stripped off the engine and just have a simple setup. Said there are manuals you can buy on how to do that... anyone know where I can get one? And also a good service manual?

whowey
I'm not sure what 'pollution control' you are talking about. The vacuum system can't be removed. Removing the CCV system won't provide any type of gain. Removing the evaporative canister, won't do anything either. It simply has fuel system breather lines, and a vacuum line. Compared to alot of motors the 4.0L is just about as simple as it comes.
Bounty Hunter
You can remove the ugly vacuum harness between the valve cover and airbox, it'll clean things up but you won't see any power gains. You'll still have to run the basic vacuum lines but that setup can be simplified.
