The Golden Eagle MJ

Recommended Posts

While working on my topper the other night a buddy contacted me and offered me a new Rooftop Tent at a price I just couldn't refuse.  So I switched gears and today mounted it on The Eagle and I gotta say I dig it a lot.  I'm ready for Colorado/Moab.

Thanks brother, I still have quite a bit of work to do on The Eagle but I've been catching up on projects and yard work.  My wife wanted a hobby garden that wouldn't get eaten up by the deer and critters.  So I spent a few days and built her this.  Now that I'm finished with that I hope to be back in the garage this weekend working on limit straps and bump stops.

Well I've goofed off enough today, time to get back on The Eagle.  I'm pulling the 5.5 coils and installing a set of 4.5's, I also have to hang some limit straps and build some custom bumpstops.

I worked on bumpstops for most of the afternoon and when at full bump and the opposite side hanging on the limit straps my lower bump bypasses the snubber.  I'm either going to have to make a wider upper bump or shorten my limit straps.  Building a rig that can drive down the road at 70mph on 37's and 5 inches of lift and still wheel it hard is turning out to be more challenging than I had expected.  :)

to me, the fun is in the challenge.  :L:   I could have done a straight-up 4wd swap but noooooo, I had to go with wacky ford suspension

Haha, I always seem to make life hard on myself also. LOL
