LalanP111
We all know that flares will be a never ending topic as long as people are doing 97+ swaps. With the Photobucket hostage situation, I would like to start a new thread on a new out look on this. I read a thread (http://comancheclub.com/topic/31344-fender-flares/page-2) where someone posted pictures of a Comanche with Chevy flares but I can't seem to find any additional info on this. Has anyone tried it? The body lines look similar to the point where minimal mods would be easy enough. I haven't had a chance to measure anything out yet. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Premium-Fender-Flares-Pocket-Rivet-Style-Fit-Chevy-GMC-C-K-Tahoe-Suburban-Yukon-/332134740120?fits=Year%3A2000%7CModel%3AK2500&hash=item4d54c5f098%3Ag%3A4iUAAOSwfRdZJ0is&_trkparms=pageci%253Ad9f4fe94-7130-11e7-8dcd-74dbd1a0a932%257Cparentrq%253A799eadfd15d0abc562582db8fffd744f%257Ciid%253A1 At the price of $125, seems like a topic worth looking into. Also with the size, this could be a great way to stuff bigger tires, maintain factory like looks, and eliminate some bedside cancer! Thoughts? Have you done it? Jeep Driver
I'll stick with my Bushwackers.
LalanP111
I like the Bushwackers and the Napier flares but I just can't justify the price tag.
Incommando
Use four rear TJ flares. Yep use rear flares at alll four corners to avoid extra marker lights. Easy to adapt and butt cheap. I can't post pics right now. Sorry

LalanP111
That's the first I've heard doing that, interesting idea. Do the tj rears have enough arch to match the mj wheel wells?
HOrnbrod
To me, nothing looks better than the stock flares. But when you run big meats and have to cut, they're not going to work. The Notch flares below on the Chief look pretty good, but are pricey. The flares with the fasteners and holes showing I don't like at all; one example is the Bushwackers. They look like an afterthought add-on to me.

I didn't see any photos in the discussion page you posted a link to ... As to Chevy body lines being similar ... have your eyeglasses prescription checked. I can't imaging how Chevy flares would fit on an MJ without some major modifications.
LalanP111
The pics are on page one, the link takes you to page two for some reason. And I'm talking about the lines as far as the lip about halfway up the doors that runs the length of the trucks. And I agree Hornbrod, nothing looks as good as factory but to make the factory MJ rears match the 97+ xj fronts is something that I feel like could be messed up very easy. I've read where it's been done but there's a reason I don't do my own body work haha
AMC86Kid
i like stock flares the most i really don't see the point of putting on new flares that everyone else can also buy but its just personal preference i guess
DirtyComanche
The problem with those Chebby flares is they aren't really a flare, they're more like a trim piece, given how narrow they are. Personally, I don't think they look right either. If you like it, go for it. I like the Napiers. I don't mind the new Bushwhackers. Unfortunately neither of them properly fits the MJ, or a wheel opening that's been cut to the limit.
Rockfrog
When I did my 97+ front clip swap, I re-used the stock front flares. Looks way better IMO. I tried Napier flares on my XJ, they looked good ... but didn't survive our island trails. Shattered the 'unbreakable' first trip out.
