AC parts ID - PO Conversion

So here is the condenser that was in my 89 4.0 that had a cracked line on it.

I pulled it and ordered an APDI 7014173 unit and the hoses do not line up on it b cause they're recessed back.

So now I'm flummoxed. Do I go through getting new hoses to fit the new one or try and figure out if that condenser came from a different vehicle?!

Did the Comanche condenser ride under the radiator as a mount originally, like the Cherokee does? Mine has small L brackets they held the busted condenser. Any input would be appreciated.

Nope not a one. Not so lucky. And the AC hoses have numbers that don't look up at all. Maybe they had them custom made but they look older than dirt and the foam insulation in them crumbled like they were original

When I worked parts , occasionally we'd get a vehicle that had an aftermarket part like yours . We would call the A/C companies like Four Seasons and give them the dimensions and thread fitting sizes/ placement and they would give us a replacement part number .

Good luck in your search , unless you go with having new hoses made , which wouldn't be a bad idea if your hoses are crumbling .

When I replaced a condenser on a 91 XJ the dimension were slightly different but it all bolted right up.

If the original is a odd ball dealer add on or generic aftermarket, I would just go back with new hoses to match the new condenser as long as the rest of the hardware mates up.

if it was wrecked in the front early on in it life is a possibility a body shop threw it together.
