HOrnbrod
I'm afraid to ask but is your manual still available or still in Print? Bryce Factory Service Manuals (FSMs) are model year specific. For the 88MJ in your signature, you can download the electrical manual HERE. I like the printed manuals because I can refer to them when doing electrical stuff on the vehicle, and can pen and ink any changes I make. Buying a full FSM set is money well spent. Official AMC/Mopar FSM sets show up on Ebay regularly for your model/year. The Chiltons and other aftermarket junk are too generic and basically worthless IMO. johnj92131
Times 2 on this. Factory Service Manuals are money well spent. Personally have the original FSM for each car I own, Including my Corvair from the 1960s Factory Service Manuals (FSMs) are model year specific. Airborne Janitor
I have the digital FSM for 1989 & 1999 Jeep vehicles and a Haynes manual which is almost 20 years old. I like to think they compliment each other well. Yes, the FSM is the official stealership's guide but definitely lacks detail in a lot of areas. Step 1 remove driveshaft. Step 2 remove transmission. Like its always that easy. The Haynes manual has definitely been worth the $20 I paid for it in 99. Some part are generic and sometimes the steps & details are cumbersome. But the pictures are usually decent and I've found some pics/steps are the same as they are in the FSM. Just my 2 cents.
