Unknown wiring connectors and switch

Recommended Posts

I'm troubleshooting my non-operational turn signals. They worked fine a week ago, now they just stay lit and don't flash at all. Hazards work fine, turn signals don't at all.

In my search for the problem, I checked all the fuses under the dash and saw some wiring connectors that weren't plugged in. I also noticed a switch under the steering wheel that I hadn't noticed before. Doesn't look OEM, but I guess I don't know. Googling gave me nothing. Can anybody help ID either wiring connector or the switch?

In the top pic the white wire and toggle switch are add-ons by some previous owner, not factory. So who knows? The grey connector I'm not sure of. Maybe the DRL module connector?

In the next pic that's the connector for the optional headlamp delay module.

For the turn signals, try swapping the turn signal and emergency flashers above the fuse panel and see if the problem reverses.

Hornbrod to the rescue once again!

I'll try swapping them this evening and see what I get

Swapped the flashers and now both the turn signals and hazards work. Cleaned off the contacts a little but they weren't that dirty. Don't really understand it but definitely not complaining for now. Thanks for the help!

Okay, now check all your turn signal/hazard lights and see which one is burned out.

The stock turn flasher (unless you have a tow package) is a load-sensitive flasher. It's designed to flash correctly when all the lights work, and to not flash properly if a bulb burns out. The 4-way hazard flasher is not load sensitive -- it flashes no matter how many bulbs are burned out.
