Boatlouie
Hello everyone I am a new member and was wondering just how hard is it to remove the oil pan on a 1988 rear wheel drive 4.0 engine?
87MJTIM
It is not hard at all. It is messy, time consuming and MESSY. All you need is a standard set of sockets and wrenches. Also, a floor jack and jack stands. See this http://comancheclub.com/topic/45246-rear-main-seal/ I listed the steps for the rear main seal. While you have everything off, it may make sense to change the RMS also.
