895XJ
I need help restoring my MJ tail lights, has anyone had success removing this "rust spot" from the backup lens? Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
ParadiseMJ
I think that's more of a "burn" mark from the heat of the lamp. You could probably reach in with a bit of sandpaper or steel wool and maybe buff it out. There are a few write-ups on separating the front plastic from the back. BTW: an LED back-up lamp will light it up without the heat.
johnj92131
X 2 on the above. Polish it of on the inside of the lens, use tooth paste to polish the edge of the burn mark as a test. You might want to try 1000 grit wet/dry paper, but go very easy and check your work often.
895XJ
I've separated the lens and housing and no luck removing it from the inside, oh well, they'll just have to be "b grade" for the rest of their useful life
