Spydie
Hey everyone, looking at a clean comanche and want some opinions on what this could be. Engine was just professionaly rebuilt, bored out .020" over, has larger pistons for it, has a stage 1 cam and a stage 2 head from cleggs. The engine was put back in the jeep and hasn't been driven, maybe 50 miles are on it so it's still in the break in period. It occasionally has a misfire at 1700rpm. It only happened once while I was looking at it. One friend said possibly a fouled plug? Cleggs said possibly a vacuum line? Any other idea's? I want to pull the trigger on the truck but the misfire makes me hesitant. I know how much of a can of worms they can be. Thank you

DirtyComanche
Vacuum leak is a good place to start... But could be as easy as the sensor grounds. Or the disty is worn out, or the wires are old, etc. I doubt there's anything seriously wrong with it. Buy it and do all of Cruiser's tips, along with replacing the plugs/wires/disty, and retorque the intake/exhaust manifold bolts. Talk the seller down because of the misfire. He's at about $3k right now but it needs new tires, windshield, motor work, and all the body work. I'd be happy getting it for $2800. It's a diamond in the rough. I'm not opposed to doing all the things you listed as this is going to be a "restore" project for me and I'd like to make everything nice again, I just don't want to get it and have it blow up on me
