madog7200
Is anyone running the oem exhaust pipe on their 6 cylinder. I bought a new stainless steel exhaust manifold and when I was installing it on the new motor I saw that the flange on the pipe looks crushed. So I was wondering if anyone could snap a picture of their pipe so I could see if mine is crushed or if it's made that way from the factory Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Eagle
That's correct. A lot of people complain about it, but the OEM downpipe has a flat spot in it.
DirtyComanche
It's there for driveshaft clearance. If you're not lifted, you need it. There is massive gouge marks in mine because the exhaust was redone without it.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the new header having better air flow which might be creating back pressure? johnj92131
If I remember correctly, Cruser54 has posted the "restriction" is there for emission reasons on the Renix era Comanche. Think it is to warm things up a bit quicker. Check out Cruser54 comments on H.O. vs Renix.
Rockfrog
My Renix never had crush, I actually kept that section of the exhaust when I pulled the stock system. All the HO's I have seen had the crush at the flange. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
