EnlistedManche
I have way to much rake in the rear of my truck after going SOA. Looking to get lift shackles for a Cherokee that are .75 inch worth of lift. Which if I'm not mistaken is the original difference in XJ/MJ shackles. My real question is I've heard the leaf springs are slightly wider on the XJ. Curious if these will end up working for me. http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-shackles-xj-75-extended-greasable-pair.html
Eagle
XJ springs and MJ springs are both 2-1/2" wide.
mikekaz1
mj factory shackles are 1" longer then a factory XJ. aftermarkets are all XJ shackles, so just minus 1" from listed to get MJ length,

Pete M
be careful about shorter shackles. go too short and the leaf won't be able to flatten out and will bind. what about just throwing a couple bags of sand back there for a while?
mvusse
I did a test with XJ shackles a while back. Picked up the back of the truck and then set it back down. The shackles inverted -> no bueno, so using xj shackles you'd have to run limiting straps. Also, changing shackle length messes with your pinion angle which is not a good thing. Better solution would be to bastard pack the springs, swapping out one or more MJ leafs with XJ ones, which have less arc to them.
