Double Six Posted January 28, 2017 Share Posted January 28, 2017 What type of gas cap would go on my 86 with 2.5 manual tranny? It has a replacement one on it ,but not sure if it's right or not . It is a vacuum cap. in the summer when it's real hot it would make the tank pop in and out making a loud noise so I would leave it a little loose.It was getting around 20 mpg ,but has dropped down to 16 since I loosened the cap. Double Six Posted January 28, 2017 Author Share Posted January 28, 2017 They may have been , I just had a guy put on a new tank and fuel pump for me.All he said was that he made sure they were open because he had to change them from the old to the new tank.
