omega_rugal Posted January 26, 2017 Share Posted January 26, 2017 now that my MJ runs on LPG with no problem, i am not sure if i should disconect the inyectors, i don`t want to ruin them just in case i need to go back to gasoline, what do you guys think? Ωhm Posted January 26, 2017 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Fuel acts as a coolant for the injectors and fuel pump. The fuel pump will circulate the fuel. I would not run the injectors dry for any length of time. You might also want to put some sort of load across each injector. That electrical energy needs to dissipate somewhere. Marine1Texas Posted January 26, 2017 Share Posted January 26, 2017 unplugging the connectors from them will preserve the life of them for a short time, however carbon build up will happen on the tips and at one point clog the spray ability for future use. A injector that runs dry for more then 1000 cycles will develop a click noise at that point it is over for them. personally if your looking to save them, remove them, plug the injector ports. Marine1Texas Posted January 27, 2017 Share Posted January 27, 2017 you can use junk ones if you plan on keeping your rail in place.(make sure you put good rings on injectors so you get no air leaks) if you plan on taking your rail off then your need to get 14mm plugs. If your injectors are new I would defiantly save then, a cheap set you can get for 60 & up. Now a set of plugs can run a easy 40 and up. Now at junk yard a used set of injectors should be able to get for 20 bucks or less. Just make sure you have good o rings on the ends so you get no air leaks. The cheapest way is to leave everything on and just some old junk injectors. that's the way I would go. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
omega_rugal Posted January 27, 2017 Author Share Posted January 27, 2017 they are old inyectors, i think i`ll just unplug the harness for now, even if they get dirty, they need a good cleaning anyway... with gas prices going thorugh the roof as we speak, the only chance i may burn gas again would be if the LPG breaks down while away home, as a last resort to bring the truck back...
