NHMJXJ
Horrible photography, but it looks pretty good! No additional pics on the sellers website. 17K miles, 4x4, 5spd, short box. Another $15K ask. http://www.ebay.com/itm/351919978194?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true
Nodrama43
I have asked the seller when I can personally inspect the truck. Awaiting a response.
Strokermjcomanche
This is only 15 minutes away from me , and I wish I had 15k to spare . To top it off , I know Randy ( the owner of buckeye auto mart ) and I always heard a rumor of there being a real low mileage Comanche on Villa Marie rd . If I get off of work early enough I will go take a bazillion more pictures for all of you / and me!!!
Nodrama43
I talked to Randy this morning. The story is the old man that owned it had it parked in his garage with stuff stacked all over (cardboard boxes etc). He passed and his sister came into town and sold it to a friend of Randy's. Randy is selling it on ebay for him. Bucket seat full console truck and Randy says it is obvious the miles are correct as the truck is literally brand new. Waiting on a call back to find out what it will take to buy it. Strokermjcomanche more pics would be awesome if you can get them. Randy has the truck on his lot and he will be there late this evening.

Minuit
There's quite a lot of us here who wish they could go back in time and come back with a brand new MJ. I feel that way, anyway. This is an opportunity to do just that. If I had the means to buy something like that truck, I'd give it some serious consideration. This is a totally original truck, not a repainted bondo buggy like some of the big money MJs for sale are. I don't know if that's the motivation for Nodrama43 to pursue this truck but if it is I totally understand where he's coming from.
Nodrama43
Ok got up at 0430 and headed north. Called the owner at 0515 to let him know I was on the way. He promptly backed out of our deal and said he wants to let the auction run it's course. Oh well........sounds like my 90 eliminator is going to be my daily driver which is OK too. I have been waiting on Jeep to build a new truck for about ten years. The crew cab wrangler with a bed or the renegade front end concept truck is not what I want. When I saw this one pop up I figured it was as close to a new truck as I was going to find. The right color, right equipment and options right down to the steel wheels. I was gonna drive it everyday and then give it to a grandson when he turns 16 in 8 years. My 90 eliminator is also a black short bed 4x4 bucket seat console 5 speed truck. I am almost done with it and when it is done it will be a mint never rusted completely restored truck as well. Not a 17k original unmolested truck but still very capable and road worthy. Things happen for a reason folks and if it is meant to be I will end up with the truck. If not I will use the funds to restore my 91 Hunter green pioneer. It is a win win win situation for me whichever way it plays out.
ggcnash
Imo, Jim as rare and good find as this is, trucks like this do come up like I said an h.o last year went for 11k with less miles I personally know where a 90 model is located at Brennan dodge&jeep with less miles it's not for sale, but for 15k I'm sure he would talk! Nodrama43
this truck interested me due to the color and options and being so close I could easily see it in person. I know what it costs to restore a Comanche back to this condition and the price he agreed to sell it to me for was much less. I understand the seller hoping to hit the lottery and it is all good....it just isn't going to be with me lol. Bid high and bid often folks......lots of lookers and watchers but no bids yet. I think it will sell for his BIN price or close to it anyway.
johnj92131
So what was the price you agreed to and he backed out of? One of the things to think about when buying an old car in great condition is: What would it cost now in today's dollars? I paid $20K for a 1969 Chevy Corvair Monza Convertible with 24,000 original miles on it. The car cost about $3050 when new in 1969. My first new house in 1973 cost 24K or 8 times the purchase price of the car. I simply could not buy that 1973 house for $212K today. The house cost would be over $400K. So when I think about the value of today's dollars - I understand that $20K is about half or less what the car would sell for if it was new today. ggcnash
The bottom line is no way on God's green earth would I ever pay that money for anything renix, xj or mj the only reason mj guys are accepting of renix models is because it's tough as hell to find an h.o, I've been around these jeeps my whole life never once have I ever heard an xj guy say "You know what you want is an 87-90" no never quite the opposite matter of fact they say "stay away from 87-90 just look for a 20 or 44 in rear" yes you can get them running top notch with cruisers list but there is a reason the renix XJ'S are basically given away compared to h.o's, there is also a reason they are known worldwide to jeep owners as refix, that's just reality not taking jabs at anyone's ride just facts Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
shelbyluvv
Those are not facts, those are your opinions. I know a lot of people who prefer the Renix over the OBD Jeeps. I'm not one of them but they are out there. There's some on here and NAXJA both.
500 MJ
I must have oddballs then, My renix MJs treat me very well and because so many Jeepers have hate for them I get cheap or free parts from everyone! I appreciate the bonus gas mileage I get over the HO setup, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
ggcnash
Missing the point, lol I've owned renix jeeps most of my life b/c those were the only model era I was able to afford, they developed my love for jeeps also my love for a fluke multimeter. It still doesn't change the fact they are $#!& electrically that's why there is a book about solving common electrical gremlins, I will also add for your comment "I know lots of people" hypothetically speaking let's say you get married 20 yrs later your balding what does your wife say "I love it it looks good baby" why b/c that's who they love and you are theirs but let's be honest no woman as a child sits around and says "I can't wait to be married to a middle age balding man girls" #cmonman Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

I spoke with him yesterday again about the truck and the auction. If it doesn't sell on the auction he and I might make a deal. I am not going to reveal what he told me he would originally take for it but in my opinion the truck is worth it. It is optioned exactly like I would order one today if they were available. The fact it is a Renix does not concern me in any way. I would say to anyone that if you don't like a Renix....or bucket seats, or Pioneer hocky stick stripes, or chrome bumpers, or a Dana 44 with skid plates and tow hooks, then this truck is not for you. Find another one this nice and unmolested original that is for sale. When you do post it up for us to see. I ordered a couple thousand dollars worth of parts yesterday for my 90 Eliminator. When I get the truck done I will have over 15k in it. You cannot build a truck for the price of this one on Ebay. Anyone that has built these trucks.....or any other vehicle for that matter.....knows this is fact. anyway.......looks like there are a couple bids on the truck. They are still a loooooong way from his reserve. Going to be an interesting weekend.
