Newton
I notice when I start the truck when it's cold the idle fluctuates a lot like it keeps droppin Like it's going to stall then picks back up like it's constantly fighting to keep the idle up so it won't stall but after it stays on for a few minutes the idle settles down steadily do u think it might b a vacuum problem? There no leaking lines that I know of
Marine1Texas
A few things to check Make sure your idle stepper motor is working properly. check those bolts on your intake, they can come loose and while cold the gasket is not expanded as they do when they heat up, causing a leak. Make sure bolts are snug on your throttle body and your gasket is in good shape. to test the vacuum hoses with some spray fluid, something like starter fluid, or brake cleaner. benjy_26
I had the same issueon my '87 2.5. It went away after I installed a new intake/exhaust gasket and rebuilt my throttle body.
