To those who have replaced their heater cores , which brand did you guys use and what were the results ? Would you buy again ? My heater cores leaking and I don't want to do the job twice. looking on rock auto theirs a spectra brand heater but some reviews appear to not be so good. I also saw this heater core which appears to be copper and I was curious if any of you guys have used it 1987 jeep Comanche 4.0 BA 10/5 factory a/c

HOrnbrod
The best "brand" is New Old Stock Mopar/AMC. I have a couple. PM if interested.
Minuit
The best "brand" is New Old Stock Mopar/AMC. I have a couple. PM if interested. Wish I would've known this before I put a Spectra in mine. At least the one in OP's pic has the bottom mounting hole. OP, the Spectra fits fine but is otherwise unsatisfactory.
88mjblue
The best "brand" is New Old Stock Mopar/AMC. I have a couple. PM if interested. How much should I expect to pay for one of these? My heater core started leaking at the beginning of winter, and I've been going all winter without heat! Luckily I have a HCV so coolant loss has been slow, but the heater core replacement is on my to do list for this summer. Where did you get those NOS cores? Part number? Or are you willing to part with one?

Fernando87mj
Just an update for closure , if anyone wondered , I went to an oreillys and they had a copper heater core in stock Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
88mjblue
Thanks for reminding me, still going around leaking water here... After NOS, is an aftermarket heater core made of copper the next best thing? I found a copper one on ebay for $56 shipped, seems reasonable to me.
