WNY-J24
I see a comanche in my local auto auction. It's an 1988 4 cyl 4x4 swb maroon. It looks pretty rough and is not running. I believe it will be sold for scrap so I left a note with the auction house to tell whoever buys it I'll pay them for the hitch on it. I know krusty made some amazing progress with making new hitches but at the same time I feel it's a crime to let a full class 3 draw tire hitch get scrapped. I totally know it is a long shot that I get to deal with the guy but if it does I can repost. Just wanted to give other people the option to request other parts to grab too. Tail lights, tail gate, and the bed topper come to mind to save from scrap. If anyone has interest in anything from here let me know. I am also pretty curious as it almost looks like a class II or class III hitch on the front of the mj as well. I had never seen one like that. Are they common? FrankTheDog
iaai.com also has 6 more Comanches on their site. 1 92 and 2 91's. 1 is an Eliminator with a clean looking bed. It's located in Boise Idaho.
johnj92131
Front hitches are still available for the Cherokee/Comanche. I have a Drawtite on the front of my truck. Nice for putting the trailer in a tight spot. Also not bad to haul a small moterscooter/Honda Trail 90. Have also used the front hitch as a pushing point on another car going up the drive way. No risk of bumper damage that way.
WNY-J24
Well then at least the rear is worth saving. The truck bed topper also looks like it would be good for someone. Sand and paint it it would be pretty decent.
TheDude
Why don't you just buy it for scrap then?
WNY-J24
I would if I could. Here in New York people can't buy salvage cars as individuals. Only dealers or scrappers or businesses can. So I have to wait for some business to buy it and hope they want to deal with me on the hitch or tailgate.
WNY-J24
Well it was sold to scrap yard in town near me. They said they may let me come take some parts off of it. Anyone want the truck bed topper?

WNY-J24
Yup a legit draw-tite class III. Barely got out before they shut down for the day. They were basically yelling at me to leave as the last bolt snapped and the hitch hit the dirt. Hate those bolts so much. Kills me I had to leave a darn good tailgate and almost new tail lights.
