Trailer Light Harness

The splice connectors are easy to use and convenient but they cause many headaches when they get loose. Taping them will help but a loose connection is a sure bet in the future. If you have time and ability it would be better to solder and shrink wrap the splices.

Flat plugs are $#!& and won't last more than a couple of years.

If he was going to a more permanent 7 pin.........then I agree.

Why hack up your wiring with cheap splice connectors? It doesn't matter what kind of trailer connection you are using they should be avoided if they can.

Also I have three vehicles with the 4 blade connection. They are all older than a cheap splice connector would have lasted ... Do it right so you don't have to worry about it later.
